The past week has been a major milestone in my boat restoration project—the hull painting is finally done! 🎨⚓ This was one of the most critical and time-consuming steps, so seeing it completed feels incredibly rewarding. The fresh coat not only brings the boat closer to seaworthiness but also gives it a renewed sense of life.
Unexpected Help from New Friends
One of the highlights of this journey has been the incredible people I’ve met along the way. Recently, I crossed paths with a group of fellow boat enthusiasts from Austria, who turned out to be lifesavers! They generously shared their expertise and helped me troubleshoot some persistent electronics issues that had been holding me back. It’s amazing how the sailing community always comes through with support when you need it most.
Slow but Steady Progress
While there’s still a handful of finishing touches left—wiring adjustments, final fittings, and some interior work—I’m taking it one step at a time. Boat restoration is a marathon, not a sprint, and rushing could mean compromising quality. Every small task completed brings me closer to the ultimate goal: splashing this beauty back into the water and, soon after, setting sail on the open ocean. 🌊⛵
What’s Next?
With the hull now protected and looking sharp, my focus shifts to:
-
Finalizing electrical systems
-
Completing interior refinements
-
Preparing for sea trials
I can almost smell the saltwater and feel the wind filling the sails again—it’s getting closer every day!
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, I’d love to hear your thoughts or advice in the comments. Have you ever tackled a big restoration project? What was your biggest challenge? Let’s chat below!

totally primed and covered in antifouling. Wondering if it works as shark protection – not only against barnacles.
