After 75 long days on the hard, the moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived—we’re back in the water! 🎉 There’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your boat float again after weeks of sanding, painting, and boatyard chaos. But as any seasoned sailor knows, splash day is just the beginning. Now, the real work begins as we hustle to get everything shipshape before setting sail.
Projects, Projects, and More Projects
Just because we’re floating doesn’t mean the to-do list gets shorter. If anything, it grows! Here’s what’s been keeping us busy:
⚓ Rigging & Ropes
Some of the lines were looking worse for wear, so I’ve been swapping out old, sun-bleached ropes for fresh, sturdy ones. Nothing worse than a snapped halyard mid-sail!
🔧 Engine Check & Impeller Swap
A happy engine means a happy sailor. I gave ours a thorough check, checked the oil, and replaced the impeller (because nobody wants an overheating engine in the middle of nowhere).
🧽 Deep Cleaning – Above & Below Deck
Months of boatyard grime meant scrubbing the deck until it shone. Below deck got the same royal treatment—because living in a clean, organized space makes passage life so much better.
🛒 Provisioning Like Pirates
Stocking up for the next leg means bulk buying non-perishables, and stashing enough coffee to survive an apocalypse. (Priorities, right?)
The Countdown to Casting Off Begins!
With every task checked off, I’re getting closer to raising the sails and chasing horizons once again. The excitement is real, but so is the hustle—there’s always one more thing to fix before going offshore.

finally washed off the antifouling and epoxy dust.
Until next time—fair winds and following seas! 🌊
