Paul – The Sailing Web Designer
Ahoy. I’m Paul — a German who swapped the corporate IT grind for the Caribbean, and eventually traded a landlocked life for a sailboat and open water.
The journey wasn’t exactly planned. After years of building a career in IT in Germany, I did what most people only daydream about: I quit, packed up, and moved to Curaçao. Small safety net, no return ticket. On the island, I rebuilt myself professionally — diving into web design, photography, and online marketing for the tourism industry. Sun, Sea, and SEO.
Then, in early 2025, I spotted Anima. She was sitting on a private pier, abandoned and perishing — exactly the kind of project most people walk past. I saw something else: potential and a dream of cruising the world.
I sold everything I had in Curaçao, bought her, and got to work. A rescued boat, a reinvented life, and a business in my floating office that sails with me.

More Than Just a Website

It’s a bit like sailing. You can put up a mast and a sail, and you’ll probably start moving. But you’ll sail much better with proper rigging, telltales, a wind instrument, and a chartplotter. Add an autopilot, and the whole journey becomes more comfortable, predictable, and enjoyable.
Most of those tools aren’t strictly necessary—sailors crossed oceans long before electronics existed—but they make it much easier to stay on course and spend more time enjoying the adventure.
I believe websites work much the same way. A simple website can get you online, but the right systems behind it can help you spend less time managing the technical side and more time focusing on what you love to create.
